Police search for missing swimmer at Mildura

A search will resume tomorrow for a man who went missing while swimming in the Murray River on the NSW/Victorian border.

Just after 5pm today (Friday 11 September 2020), emergency services were called to the river at Mildura after a man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was seen to disappear underwater and not resurface.

Officers from Barrier Police District attended and commenced a search of the area with assistance from the State Emergency Service.

The search has been suspended overnight and is expected to resume at first light tomorrow (Saturday 12 September 2020).

Assistance has also been sought from police divers.
