After consultation with the Department of Corrections, South Australia Police can now state that they are currently searching for low security prisoner Shane Gauci, according to SA Police.
He did not return to the Department of Corrections bus that was transporting him on a pre-release work program just after 8.30am on Monday 24 September and is now unlawfully at large.
Shane Gauci had been on the bus travelling on Gorge Road, Newton with Corrections officers when it stopped at a service station. He was due to return to the Adelaide Pre-Release Centre on Grand Junction Road.
Shane Gauci, 41, is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, 95kg, clean shaven with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, khaki pants and black boots.
Anyone who sees Shane Gauci should not approach him, but contact the Police Assistance line on 131 444 immediately.
