Police search for stolen car in Townsville

Police are searching for a stolen car in Townsville this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 6.30am, a member of the public approached the stolen vehicle in another car on Ingham Road at Garbutt.

The male driver of the stolen vehicle threatened him with what looked like a handgun.

Another occupant of that car threw a brick through the windscreen of the man’s car.

The vehicle is a light-coloured 2010 Holden Commodore with Queensland registration NIK670.

Anyone who sees the car should not approach it, but instead call police immediately.

The car was stolen from Mount Louisa this morning.

Investigations are continuing.

The car is has been described as light in colour. It may look white from a distance, but is reported officially as being turquoise.
