Police Seek Help in Sydney Airport Theft Probe

The AFP is seeking public assistance to identify a woman who may be able to assist with inquiries into the theft of about $4000 worth of merchandise from a retail outlet at Sydney Airport.

Items, including a Camilla silk scarf, Fendi sunglasses and a GHD hair straightener, were identified as being stolen from the store in domestic terminal 2 on three mornings in September (3rd and 7th) and October (29th).

As part of the investigation, the AFP has released CCTV of a woman seen in the area on those dates who officers would like to speak to.

On one occasion, the woman was seen boarding a flight to Canberra. She is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, with long brown hair, and speaking with a lisp.

Each time she was seen carrying a maroon handbag and a second black bag. CCTV also showed the woman carrying either a green or silver suitcase during her appearances at the airport.

Anyone with information about the thefts or the woman pictured is asked to contact Airport Watch on 131 237 (131 AFP).
