Police seek help to find missing man at Ayr 31 January

Police are seeking public assistance to locate an 18-year-old man who has been missing from Ayr since 2019.

Linden Malayta (pictured) was last seen at Ayr in March 2019 possibly travelling to Townsville.

Concerns are held for his welfare as he has not made direct contact with family or friends in Ayr since that time.

Child Protection Investigation Unit Officer in Charge Dave Miles has asked for anyone with information to contact police.

"Information was received initially that Linden had been sighted in Townsville, however these sightings could not be confirmed.

"We have exhausted all avenues of our investigation and are seeking any information the community may be able to provide, no matter how small or insignificant they may think it is," Senior Sergeant Miles said.

The teenager is described as Aboriginal, with brown eyes and dark brown hair and last seen wearing the red baseball cap, which he frequently wore.

Anyone who may have seen Linden or knows his whereabout is urged to contact police.
