Police seek help to find thief at Frankston

Frankston police are hoping to identify a woman after a pensioner's wallet was stolen at a Frankston shopping centre earlier this month.

Police have been told a 74-year-old man attended a shopping centre on Cranbourne Road just after 5pm on Thursday 9 January.

The man from Merino was purchasing a gift for his grand-daughter at a newsagency when he misplaced his wallet.

Investigators believe a woman picked up the wallet and took a large amount of cash out of it before returning the empty wallet back to the newsagency.

She then met up with a man outside the shopping centre.

The woman is believed to be aged 45 to 50-years-old, solid build with blonde hair tied into a pony tail.

She was wearing a black dress, black shoes and carrying a pink handbag.

Police have released images of a woman they believe can assist with their enquiries.
