Police are appealing for public assistance as part of the ongoing search to locate Ivainesu Mahwendepi.
The 28-year-old man is wanted after absconding during leave from a secure facility in Fairfield yesterday.
Mr Mahwendepi had been at an outing at a shopping centre on Murray Road, Preston when he fled about 2pm on 5 October.
A significant search was then undertaken in the area, however he was unable to be located, and that search remains ongoing.
He was last sighted wearing a white and blue Ellesse jumper, black t-shirt, black and white tracksuit pants, and black and red Adidas runners. He was also wearing a watch and a silver necklace, and had a black satchel bag in his possession.
Police have released a number of images of Mr Mahwendepi in the hope that someone may be able to provide information on his current whereabouts.


This includes an image taken from CCTV yesterday at the Preston shopping centre.
Mr Mahwendepi is described as African in appearance, about 175cm tall with a solid build and his hair in red/orange dreadlocks.
He has previously frequented the Harkness area, however his current whereabouts are unknown.
Anyone who sights Mr Mahwendepi is asked not to approach him and to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Police are also urging Mr Mahwendepi to make contact with police or hand himself in at any police station as soon as possible to ensure his immediate welfare.
