Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Wantirna man Peter Whitehead.
The 68-year-old was last seen thid morning at the Box Hill Hospital about 3.15am.
Police are concerned for his welfare as he has a medical condition which requires daily medication.
Police have released an image of Peter in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information regarding his current whereabouts.
Anyone who sees Peter or with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Knox Police Station on 9881 7000.
