Police seek info following armed robbery in Fairfield

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Sydney’s west yesterday evening, NSW Police say.

About 7.40pm today, a 29-year-old employee was assisting a man in the service station on Sackville Street, Fairfield.

Police have been told the man produced a stick and threatened the employee, demanding cash and cigarettes.

The armed man forced his way behind the counter and left with cash and cigarettes. No one was injured.

Officers attached to Fairfield Local Area Command were alerted and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.

The man is described as being of Asian appearance, of a thin build, aged in his early 20’s, and was last seen wearing a black hooded-jumper and black track pants.

Anyone with information that may be able to assist is urged to contact Crime Stopers.
