Police seek info following armed robbery in Hurstville

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a cafe in Hurstville last night, NSW Police say.

About 9pm today, two female employees of a cafe within a shopping complex on Forest Road were closing up for the day.

As they pulled the shutter down, a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 30-40 years of age with a medium build and wearing a beanie with a dark grey hooded jumper and lighter grey track pants with black runners, entered the store armed with a pair of scissors.

He threatened the two women before breaking into the cash register and stealing the day’s takings.

He ran from the store heading west along Forest Road towards Hurstville Railway Station.

Police were called and officers from St George Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact officers at St George Local Area Command or Crime Stoppers.
