Police seek information after act of indecency on Sydney metropolitan train

Police have released CCTV images of a man as inquiries continue into an indecent act performed on a Sydney metropolitan train earlier this month.

About 6.55am on Sunday 3 March 2019, a 20-year-old woman was on a train travelling between Central Railway Station and Wollstonecraft Railway Station, when a man sat next to her before exposing himself and committing a sexual act.

The woman moved to another carriage and left the train at the next station.

The man left the train at North Sydney Station, before travelling back to Town Hall Station.

About 2pm on Monday 4 March 2019, the woman attended Day Street Police Station and reported the incident, before the matter was referred to investigators from Police Transport Command Central/North who commenced inquiries.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Asian appearance, about 173cm tall, of a slim build, with short dark hair, and is seen wearing a black shirt with three-quarter sleeves, and black pants.

Anyone with information, or anyone who knows the identity of the man is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
