Police seek information after armed robbery of service station at Inverell

Police are appealing for information from the community following an armed robbery in the state's north-west this morning.

About 1.30am (Tuesday 22 March 2022), a man, who was wearing a balaclava, entered a service station on Warialda Road, Inverell, and threatened an employee with a knife, demanding cigarettes and cash.

The man stole the items before fleeing on foot. He was last seen running towards Warialda Road.

The employee was not physically injured during the incident.

Officers attached to New England Police District attended and established a crime scene, which has been forensically examined.

As inquiries continue, investigators are appealing to locate a man who may be able assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, and of medium build. He was wearing all black clothing with a white strip on the pants.

Further, investigators are seeking dash cam footage from the area, which can be provided to police at Inverell Police Station or via Crime Stoppers.
