Police seek information after Emerald shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary and shooting in Emerald early this morning.

Detectives have been told three men forced their way into a property on Cornish Road before an occupant of the home was shot in the leg about 4.30am.

The trio fled the scene at about the same time a white vehicle, described as being a similar make and model to a Rav 4, was seen leaving the area.

The injured 53-year-old Emerald man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two other people who were at home at the time of the incident were not physically injured.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident, which remains ongoing, are yet to be determined however it is believed to be a targeted attack.
