Police are appealing for assistance after a woman died following a hit and run in Sydney's west yesterday.
About 5.30pm (Thursday 5 June 2025), emergency services were called to Macquarie Avenue, Penrith, following reports a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle before it drove away from the scene without stopping.
A woman – believed to be aged in her 40's – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she could not be revived.
She is yet to be formally identified.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene which was forensically examined by investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit.
As inquiries into the incident continue, police have released images of an orange dual cab ute and would like to speak with the driver who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
Police are also appealing to anyone with dashcam footage who might have been travelling on Macquarie Avenue, Lemongrove Road or the Lemongrove Bridge, Penrith, about 5.30pm to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
