Police Seek Information After Fire At Auburn Business

Police are appealing for information from the public after a deliberately lit fire damaged a business in Auburn this morning.

Emergency services were called to Mary Street shortly before 4am (Saturday 3 May 2025) and found a shopfront alight.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command established a perimeter as Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire.

More than 80 residents from adjacent homes were evacuated as a precaution until the scene was rendered safe. No injuries have been reported at this time, and all residents have returned home.

Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, they are appealing for information about a dark-coloured vehicle seen leaving the scene shortly before the arrival of emergency services.
