Police seek information after man assaulted during break and enter at Cobar

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted during a break and enter at a home in the state's central west.

About 12.05am yesterday (Sunday 10 January 2021), the occupant of a home on Blakey Street, Cobar, was woken by knocking at his front door.

When he opened the door the 32-year-old was assaulted by two unknown men, who were armed with sticks.

The men fled and emergency services were contacted.

The man was taken to Cobar Hospital where he was treated for a laceration to his head and other minor injuries.

Officers attached to Central North Police District commenced inquiries into the matter and believe it could be linked to an incident which occurred on Green Street, Cobar, approximately 10 minutes prior.

Police wish to speak with two men who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The first male has been described as approximately 16-18 years old, with a tanned complexion, approximately 170cm tall, of a slim build and was last seen wearing a face covering.

The second male has been described as approximately 18 years old, with a tanned complexion, approximately 180cm tall, with a slim build, last seen wearing a face covering and no t-shirt.
