Police seek information after man found with stab wounds at Werrington

Police will speak with the media as an investigation gets underway after a man was found at Werrington this morning suffering stab wounds.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Street shortly after 4am today (Thursday 22 September 2022), responding to reports a man had been found injured inside the stairwell of a unit block.

The man, believed to be aged 29, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital.

He is reported to be in a serious condition with injuries to his upper body.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command have initiated inquiries; however, have not yet been able to take a formal statement from the injured man.

A crime scene has been established and investigations underway.
