Police seek information - Animal cruelty - Acacia Hills

Northern Territory Police are appealing for information relating to an allegation of animal cruelty at an Acacia Hills property.

At about 10:30 this morning, a resident on Affleck Road called police, reporting that he had returned home to find that his two dogs had been shot.

This report followed an earlier one around 8:00am with the caller reporting hearing shots being fired and dogs yelping in the same area.

No information was provided at that time in relation to a specific location or offenders.

Police urge anyone who may have information about this incident to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The dogs were alive and have been taken to a vet for treatment, however have been seriously injured. Initial reports indicate that both dogs sustained shattered shoulders and will require surgery.
