Police seek information as inquiries continue into suspected drowning

Police are appealing for information from the public as inquiries continue into a suspected drowning at East Maitland last week.

Emergency services were called to a home on Raymond Terrace Road, East Maitland, about 9.45pm last Thursday (26 January 2023), after reports a man was found unresponsive in a pool.

Residents of the home assisted police from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District in administering CPR, before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and took over; however, the man was unable to be revived.

The man has been identified as being aged 19, from Kahibah.

As investigations continue, anyone with information is urged to contact Raymond Terrace Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
