Police seek information on Hope Island boat fire

Police are seeking witnesses to a boat fire at Hope Island last night.

At about 11.15pm, police and emergency services were called following reports of five boats engulfed in flames the Hope Harbour Marina at John Lund Drive.

Police will allege two people were seen throwing petrol onto one of the boats before setting it alright.

Another four boats were damaged during the incident.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or have any information to assist, to come forward.

No one was injured during the incident.
