Police are appealing for public assistance in relation to a traffic incident at Silverdale in the Scenic Rim last night 23 July.
At approximately 6.30pm a white Dodge Journey was travelling along the southbound lanes of the Cunningham Highway near Kelly Street when the driver has allegedly struck a male pedestrian walking along the roadside.
The driver of the white Dodge Journey contacted police to advise of the traffic incident.
A search of the area involving police, SES and Queensland Fire Department was undertaken however they were unable to locate anyone.
The male pedestrian is believed to aged in his mid to late 30's, with a slim build and moustache and was wearing dark clothing and carrying a pink umbrella.
A further search of the area resumed this morning.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling along the Cunningham Highway near Kelly Road between 6.15pm and 6.30pm and may have witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam, to contact police.
