Police Seek Leads in Nerong Serious Injury Crash

Police are appealing for information following a serious motor vehicle crash north of Newcastle.

On Friday 8 August 2025, emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, Nerong, 80km north of Newcastle, following reports of crash between a black Mercedes sedan and a Kenworth semi-trailer.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 26-year-old woman, and the passenger, a 32-year-old man, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the Kenworth, a 48-year-old man, was uninjured. He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances of the crashed commenced by the Hunter Crash Investigation Unit.
