Police Seek Leads on Child Approach in East Albury

Police are appealing from public assistance after a child was approached by an unknown man in the East Albury area.

Around 1.00pm today (Sunday 1 February 2026), officers attached to Murray River Police District commenced an investigation following reports of a child was approached by a man unknown to him driving a white Toyota Hi-Ace van on Walsh Street, East Albury.

The man called on the boy to get in the vehicle, which he refused.

As inquiries continue, police have released images of a vehicle and are hoping to speak to the driver who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The van is described as an older model Toyota HiAce van, with scratches on the bottom, white in colour, with black rims.
