Police seek masked offender after Mulgrave burglary

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a ram-raid burglary in Mulgrave in June.

It is understood a white Mercedes Vito van was used to ram the roller-door of a Gilda Court business on Tuesday 14 June about 4.45am.

An unknown offender has then entered the building and stole several tablets and laptops before driving away from the scene.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of a man they believe will be able to assist with enquiries.

He is shown to be wearing a high-vis orange jacket and what is believed to be a rubber or latex mask, possibly resembling the "Freddy Krueger" film character.

CCTV of the vehicle involved has also been released.

The van's number plates were covered, and it appears the offender attempted to use a blanket to minimise damage to the rear of the vehicle.

Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with information that could assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.auExternal Link.
