Police seek public assistance after two public-place shootings - Western Sydney

Inquiries are underway into two public-place shootings in Western Sydney last night.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were called to Aubrey Street, South Granville about 7.10pm (Tuesday 29 December 2020), following reports shots had been fired from a vehicle.

Police conducted a canvass of the area and found damage to a home and a vehicle parked outside.

Two men were inside the property at the time, but nobody was injured.

Witnesses told police a blue Audi was seen leaving the area around the time of the incident, and a short time later, police were called to attend John Street, South Granville, after reports of a vehicle on fire, identified as the blue Audi.

Witnesses indicated the males responsible for setting the Audi alight were seen to enter a silver Mitsubishi 4WD.

Shortly afterwards, police were called to Woodville Road, South Granville, following reports a fight had occurred between two males after a silver Mitsubishi Pajero had collided with a white 4WD.

Police later located the silver Mitsubishi Pajero in McArthur Street, Merrylands.

A 27-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to Granville Police Station.

About 9.50pm, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command responded to reports of a public-place shooting in Kirk Avenue, Guildford.

Police conducted a canvass of the area and found damage to a home.

A man and a woman, along with three children, were inside at the time, but nobody was injured.

Witnesses told police a white Audi 4WD was seen leaving the area around the time of the incident.

Later in the night, police attended Miowera Road, Chester Hill, after reports of a vehicle on fire, identified as the white Audi.

Police believe these incidents are linked and inquiries are continuing.

Members of the public who may have been in the area are urged to come forward with dashcam footage, or to call Granville Police Station.
