Police seek relatives of Alfred Leather

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate any relatives of a man who passed away in Melton South two months ago, Victoria Police say.

Alfred Leather, 71 years, passed away from natural causes at his Coburn Road home on 18 September.

Investigators have been told that Alfred was married twice during his lifetime and has two children; a girl called Elizabeth who could possibly reside in South Australia and a boy who police believe may be a pilot in London.

His marriages took place interstate, one in South Australia and the second in Darwin.

Police have been told that Alfred charged his surname from Harm to Leather many years ago and spent some time in the defence force.

Numerous enquiries have been made interstate and overseas to find any next of kin but to no avail.

Anyone who may know of any relative of Alfred’s or has any information which may assist police are asked to contact Melton police on 03 9747 7999 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
