Police are appealing for assistance following a reported child approach incident in the state's north.
About 7.50am on Monday (23 June 2025), two children – a 6-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl – were walking to a bus stop on the intersection of Frederick and Sandilands Street, Casino, when a utility vehicle stopped next to them, and the driver asked the children if they wanted a lift.
The children managed to yell out to a family member before the driver took off onto Queensland Road.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District were notified and commenced investigations.
Following inquiries, police have released CCTV images of a vehicle seen in the area at the time of the incident.
The vehicle is described as being a dark grey dual cab utility vehicle possibly a 2012-2018 Ford Ranger PX model with a bull bar and the driver described as being a male of Asian appearance.
