Police Seek Tips in Castle Hill Robbery Attempt

Police have released CCTV vision and images as they appeal for information following an attempted robbery in Sydney's northwest earlier this week.

About 3.35pm on Tuesday 8 July 2025, a woman was injured at the Castle Hill Metro Station after an unknown woman attempted to steal her handbag as she walked up an escalator.

The woman – aged in her 40s – sustained minor injuries after she was pulled down the escalator.

The incident was reported to staff at the Metro Station before she attended and reported the incident to police at Castle Hill Police Station.

Officers attached to the Police Transport Command Northwest Sector were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

As investigations continue, police are hoping to speak to a woman who may be able to assist officers with their inquiries.

The woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her 20s, with blonde hair, about 165cm tall and of thin build.

She is depicted wearing a black jacket, grey tracksuit pants and white 'Nike blazer' shoes with a black tick.
