Police are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a crash in the state's north.
Just after 12.30am on Sunday 27 July 2025, officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District were patrolling on Orlando Street, Coffs Harbour, when they located an unregistered black and white coloured motorcycle being ridden on the street.
A short time later, police located the alleged pillion passenger – a 17-year-old boy – suffering injuries near a damaged blue SUV on Bradley Street.
Initial inquiries indicated the motorcycle crashed into the parked SUV causing the boy to be ejected before the alleged rider left the scene alone.
The teen was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital in a serious condition.
The SUV was seized to be forensically examined.
A crime scene has been established and officers attached to Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation into the incident.
Anyone with information about this incident, dash cam footage or may have seen the black/white motorcycle is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
