The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information following an aggravated robbery that occurred in Alice Springs this morning.
Around 1:20am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that two males had allegedly entered a service station on Dalgety Road and threatened the staff attendant before stealing multiple store items.
It is alleged that prior to this, a group of six males attended the location in a red Holden Commodore sedan and became aggressive after being requested to provide prepayment for fuel. Two males from the group, wearing face coverings, then entered the store and began threatening the attendant.
One of the males allegedly produced a tomahawk and threatened the attendant before striking the Perspex screen of the console while demanding cigarettes. The offenders then stole the cigarettes and other store items before rejoining their group and fleeing the scene in the vehicle.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing and the group remains outstanding.
