Police Seek Witnesses in Forest Lake Crash 16 January

Police have charged a woman following investigations into a fatal traffic crash in Forest Lake on 26 December 2025.

Around 11.55am, police were called to the westbound lanes of the Logan Motorway, following reports a blue Kia Cerato, stopped in the emergency bay, and had allegedly been struck by a white Kia Cerato.

The driver and sole occupant of the blue Kia, a 78-year-old Wilsonton man was outside of his vehicle at the time of the crash. He sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the white Kia, a 33-year-old Cleveland woman, was not physically injured.

Following extensive investigations by the Brisbane Forensic Crash Unit, the Cleveland woman was arrested on 13 January.

She has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, offence of driving while relevant drug is present in blood, possessing dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine), and possess utensils or pipes etc for use.

The woman was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on 12 February.
