Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Keilor East on 5 October.
Emergency services responded to reports of an unresponsive man on the road on Calder Freeway around 1.30am.
Whilst on the road, it is believed he may have been struck, unknowingly, by a number of vehicles.
The man died at the scene and the death is not being treated as suspicious, but investigators are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
