Police seek witnesses to dog bait located in Hastings

Police are appealing for witnesses after dog bait was located in the Hastings area.

Investigators have been told portions of pastry laced with what is believed to be rat poison were located near the corner of Lewis Street and Tara Drive on 27 March.

A dog owner was walking his dog along Tara Drive about 4.30am and located approximately 30 pellets of what is believed to be rat poison.

The dog is believed to have ingested a pellet however did not appear to display any symptoms.

The latest incident was this morning on Tara Drive between Isis Place and Lewis Street.

A man walking his dog observed pasta laced with what appeared to be rat poison on the nature strip.

Pet owners in the area are asked to be vigilant and report any unusual behaviour or suspicious substances appearing in their neighbourhood.
