Police seek witnesses to driver evades police in Mentone

Moorabbin Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assistance after a vehicle evaded police in Mentone earlier this month.

Police have been told a white Toyota RAV4 was seen speeding south on Beach Road about 2.30pm on Sunday 11 July.

Officers observed the vehicle speeding north on Beach Road just before 3pm when the driver evaded police and was seen driving through several red pedestrian lights near a life-saving club on Kitchener Street.

The Toyota continued driving erratically and on the wrong side of the road when it was last seen turning right into Marina Parade.

Police are keen to speak to the driver and have released an image of the Toyota in the hope someone recognises it.

Any witnesses or anyone who has dash-cam footage is urged to contact Crimes Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
