Police are appealing for witnesses to a verbal altercation which took place in the middle of a road in Preston on Tuesday morning., Victoria Police say
Darebin Criminal Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the incident which occurred on Murray Road about 8:10am.
Police believe an altercation has taken place between a man and a woman in the middle of the street.
The pair then drove off along Sheila Road, Preston, in a silver or grey Volkswagen sedan.
The altercation may have been witnessed by passing motorists and a tow truck driver who spoke with witnesses at the scene.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
