Police seek witnesses to series of armed robberies

Police are investigating four armed robberies over the past two nights in Melbourne’s north believed to be committed by the same man, Victoria Police say.

Mill Park Serious Crime Taskforce detectives believe the man first struck just after midnight yesterday at a convenience store on Diamond Creek Road, Plenty.

Investigators have been told the man entered the store and attempted to purchase cigarettes before demanding cash from the attendant.

The man threatened the sole attendant before fleeing with cash on foot north on Diamond Creek Road, Plenty.

It’s believed the man then attended at a convenience store in Mahoneys Road, Reservoir about 1am where he threatened an attendant before fleeing with cash.

Investigators believe the robber then went to a convenience store in Childs Road, Mill Park brandishing a knife and demanded cash.

He then fled with cash on foot.

Detectives believe he also attended at a Keon Parade Thomastown service station just before 3am this morning where he produced a weapon, demanded money and fled with cash.

Investigators have released CCTV and composite images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be of Southern European appearance, slim build, aged mid to late 20s, with facial hair.
