Police seek witnesses to serious bicycle crash in Blacktown

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly bike rider was found seriously injured at Blacktown yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 7.00pm today, police and emergency services were called to Flushcombe Road, Blacktown following reports an elderly rider had fallen from his bicycle.

The 73-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital with head trauma, where he remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established with specialist investigators in attendance.

Initial investigations have indicated no obvious damage to the bicycle or evidence that another vehicle was involved.
