Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash that’s left a pedestrian in a critical condition, NSW Police say.
About 10.10am on Friday 2 June 2017, emergency services were called to Burwood Road, Belmore, after reports a man was hit by a car.
Police were told the 74-year-old man was crossing the road when he was hit by a white Renault Master panel van.
The man sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver, a58-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Burwood Road and Leyland Parade at Belmore and witnessed the crash, who has not yet spoken to police to come forward.
