Police seek witnesses: Wounding Investigation, Fortitude Valley

Police are investigating after a man was injured in Fortitude Valley this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to Kemp Place at around 1.20am where they located a 25-year-old Eumundi man with two wounds to his abdomen.

Preliminary investigations indicate the man was approached by three men who demanded his phone and wallet.

An altercation ensued during which time he sustained two stab wounds.

He was transported to hospital with serious abdominal wounds which are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing with Fortitude Valley detectives appealing for anyone with information to contact police.

Police are specifically appealing to a Caucasian male, or any of his female party who witnessed the incident from nearby Ivory park to come forward.

The offenders, three men, ran from the scene and are described as Aboriginal, wearing dark hooded jumpers, one with an Adidas motif.
