Police seeking to identify vehicles as part of cold case Youngkin murder

Detectives have released details of two vehicles as part of ongoing investigations into the cold case murder of Wayne Youngkin, Queensland Police say.

New information has been received relating to a number of vehicles that were witnessed in the vicinity of 136 North Road at Brighton in late 1986, just prior to when Mr Youngkin was last seen.

Mr Youngkin’s remains were located in a septic tank at a Brighton residence in November, 2016.

Police are appealing for information from locals who may recall anyone in the Brighton area who owned vehicles (similar to those pictured) in the mid-1980s, a green Chrysler Valiant sedan and a brown XY Ford Fairmont sedan.

A set of brown striped velour bench seat covers were also located with Mr Youngkin’s remains.

A $250,000 reward is offered for information which leads to a conviction relating to the matter.

The Carseldine Criminal Investigation Branch and Homicide Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate known associates of Mr Youngkin and are urging anyone who may have known him or has knowledge of his movements throughout the early to mid-1980s to come forward.
