Police seize drugs and firearm following search warrant in Thornton

A man will face court today after being charged with drugs and firearm offences following the execution of a search warrant in the Lower Hunter Valley, New South Wales, NSW Police say.

About 8am today officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command executed a search warrant at Campden Street, Thornton.

Following the search, a number of items were seized including a "single-shot pen gun".

The 39-year-old man was arrested at his home, and taken to Maitland Police Station.

He was charged with supply large commercial quantity of prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug x 3, possess unregistered firearm, possess ammunition without holding a licence/permit, and possess prohibited weapon.

He was refused bail to appear at Maitland Local Court today, today.
