Police superintendent threatened; Western Australian Rebels OMCG members charged in Parramatta

Two Western Australian OMCG members have been charged after senior police were threatened in Sydney’s west on Friday, NSW Police say.

Just after 10.30am (10 August 2018), three police officers attached to the Police Transport Command were walking near a shopping centre on Church Street, Parramatta, when they noticed a group of men and women, believed to be associated with an OMCG.

Police approached three of the men and spoke to them in the shopping centre.

It’s alleged one of the men, aged 43, threatened and intimidated the officers, including a superintendent, before the group left the area.

Following inquiries, about 4.45pm (Friday 10 August 2018), officers from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad Strike Force Raptor, assisted by police from the Public Order and Riot Squad, attended a hotel on George Street, Parramatta.

Eight Rebels OMCG members and three associates were located and searched.

Two men – aged 43 and 48 – were arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station where they were both charged with affray and participate in criminal group.

The younger man was also charged with intimidate police officer in execution of duty, and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.

They were granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 26 September 2018.
