Police treating house fire as suspicious, Chermside

A 50-year-old woman is in a critical condition following a suspicious house fire at Chermside early this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to Bundal Street just after 4am where they found a house well alight.

Neighbours observed a person inside the house; however, they were unable to gain access to the house.

Firefighters gained entry, conducted a search and rescued the 50-year-old female resident.

First aid was rendered to the woman before she was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Investigators have established a crime scene as investigations into the circumstances of the fire continue.

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious at the time is urged to contact police.
