Police treating house fire as suspicious, Ellen Grove

Detectives investigating a house fire in Ellen Grove this week are appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage or CCTV to help with investigations.

At around 4.00am police and emergency services were called to Julie Road, where the single story home was found well-alight.

Occupants were safely evacuated from the house, but the dwelling was extensively damaged.

Following initial investigations, a crime scene was declared.

Police wish to speak to anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in the area overnight and just prior to the incident.

Homeowners and motorists are asked to review CCTV and dashcam footage capturing vehicles coming and going, or persons on foot between 3.00am and 4.30am Wednesday September 15.

Police wish to speak to a witness, a man in his thirties who alerted the homeowners to the blaze and assisted them in evacuating the house. He is not considered a suspect.
