Police treating house fire as suspicious - Wagga Wagga

An investigation is underway after a house was destroyed by fire in the state's Riverina overnight.

About 1.30am (Wednesday 3 March 2021), emergency services were called to a home on Francis Court, Ashmont, following reports of a fire.

Officers from Riverina Police District attended and established a crime scene; the blaze was extinguished by NSW Fire and Rescue.

The house was unoccupied at the time.

At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown; however, it is being treated as suspicious.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
