Police try to identify deceased man in St Kilda.

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a deceased man located in St Kilda last Wednesday (26 September), Victoria Police say.

The man was found in the rear yard of a Barkly Street home just after 9.30pm.

Following a number of enquiries police are still to establish the man’s identity.

An autopsy has been conducted which indicated that the man possibly died from a fall.

Investigators believe the man is aged in his 30s or 40s and was wearing a blue check shirt, black track pants and a green jacket. He was also wearing moccasins.

He has two distinctive tattoos, outline only with no colouring, one on his left chest and another on his right shoulder.

Police have released a computer-generated image of the man and images of the two tattoos.
