Police Update 1: Armed Robbery Charges, Lota

Detectives from Wynnum Criminal Investigations Branch have located and charged a man following investigations into an armed robbery in Lota on June 18.

It is alleged the victim, a 36-year-old man, was threatened and had his vehicle stolen by a man outside a fitness centre on Railway Terrace shortly before 4am on Wednesday.

The offender allegedly threatened the victim and demanded keys, stealing a grey 2017 Volkswagen POLO hatch.

Following an appeal for public assistance to help identify the offender, police located a 25-year-old Manly man at a Carindale shopping centre just after 7pm last night, June 19.

They also located the alleged stolen vehicle at this location.

The 25-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences including one count each of robbery armed, unlawful use of motor vehicle and stealing.

He is due to appear in Wynnum Magistrates Court today, June 20.
