Detectives from the Redcliffe Child Protection Unit have charged a man following investigations into a fatal traffic crash in Margate last night, 17 November.
Police were called to Margate Parade around 11.27pm, following reports a white Nissan Navara ute had struck a pedestrian.
It will be alleged that following the crash, the driver of the vehicle, a 58-year-old man, failed to remain at the scene and render assistance.
The pedestrian, a 17-year-old Boondall girl, sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.
The Nissan was located at a Scarborough residence around 10.30am this morning, 18 November.
A 58-year-old Scarborough man has since been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and left scene of incident without obtaining help.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear at Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 19 November.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have information or relevant footage to contact police.
