Police Update 1: Fuel Drive Off Offences At Toowoomba

Police have charged a 41-year-old man in relation to several fuel drive off offences in the Toowoomba area over the past 18 months.

Police will allege on nine separate occasions, the man drove a white 4WD utility to service stations in Drayton, Harristown, and Westbrook, filling his vehicle and on a number of occasions a jerry can with fuel before driving off without paying.

The first two offences occurred at a Drayton service station on Anzac Avenue on 1 May 2024 and 22 August 2024 , the third offence occurred at a Westbrook service station on Main Street on 7 November 2024, the fourth and fifth offences occurred at a Drayton service station on Anzac Avenue on 3 December 2024 and 5 February 2025, the sixth offence occurred at a Harristown service station on Drayton Road on 3 April 2025 and the seventh ,eighth and ninth offences occurred at a Drayton service station on Anzac Avenue on 27 July, 28 August and 19 October 2025.

A 41-year-old Pittsworth man has been charged with 18 offences including nine counts of stealing, five counts of using or permitting use of vehicle for which a number plate attached recorded as cancelled, lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged and four counts of things that purport to be but are not, registration certificates, number plates or permits.

He is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 16 December.
