Police update 1: Homicide at Lowood

Detectives from Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch and Homicide Investigation Unit have charged a 19-year-old man with murder, in relation to the death of a 35-year-old man at Lowood on January 2.

Emergency services were initially called to a Walnut Crescent address around 5am following reports of the man being found unresponsive at the property.

Police will allege the victim died as the result of a gunshot wound.

It will further be alleged the men were known to each other.

A 19-year-old Mount Beppo man has been charged with murder.

He is expected to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on January 4.

Police are continuing to appeal for information, including anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the vicinity of Walnut Crescent between midnight and 2am on January 2, to contact police.
